Elon Musk and Amber Heard’s Relationship: Insights from Walter Isaacson’s Biography
In Walter Isaacson’s latest biography on Elon Musk, set to release on Tuesday, the enigmatic SpaceX founder and Tesla CEO, Elon Musk, and the talented actress known for her roles in “Aquaman” and “The Lost Kingdom,” Amber Heard, provide a candid look into their once-publicized romance. Musk, 52, and Heard, 37, officially announced their relationship in April 2017, and the biography delves into their on-and-off connection before parting ways for good in 2018.
Isaacson’s biography includes a dedicated chapter titled “Rocky Relationships,” shedding light on the intriguing dynamics of Musk and Heard’s journey together. It all began when Musk developed an interest in the actress after watching her in the film “Machete Kills” in 2013. The two finally crossed paths when Heard paid a visit to Musk’s SpaceX a year later.
Heard is quoted in the book, describing herself as a “geek” who can also be seen as a “hot chick.” Isaacson narrates a pivotal moment when Musk took Heard for a ride in a Tesla during her visit to SpaceX.
The biography unveils several captivating details about their relationship, such as Musk’s trip to Australia in April 2017 to be with Heard while she was filming “Aquaman.” In a rather unique twist, Heard once commissioned a costume to “roleplay” a character, Mercy, from the video game Overwatch—a character Musk believed she resembled.
However, their relationship wasn’t without its share of challenges. Isaacson delves into some of the more tumultuous moments they experienced, including a heated argument during a vacation in South America in December 2017, which included Musk’s brother Kimbal Musk.
Despite the ups and downs, Heard, in the biography, confessed to still having strong feelings for her ex and stated, “Elon loves fire, and sometimes it burns him.” Musk described their relationship as “brutal,” while revealing his penchant for being a “fool for love.”
Kimbal Musk, Elon’s brother, expressed his sadness in the book, saying he finds it “really sad” that Elon tends to fall for individuals who can be “really mean” to him. He noted that these individuals may be beautiful but possess a dark side.
When asked why he gravitates toward such people, Musk humorously replied, “Because I’m just a fool for love. I am often a fool, but especially for love.”
As of now, a representative for Amber Heard has not responded to requests for comments on the biography’s revelations.
More than a year following their breakup, Heard shared her sentiments with The Hollywood Reporter in December 2018, emphasizing the beauty of her relationship with Musk and the lasting friendship they had developed, rooted in shared values, intellectual curiosity, and a mutual love for science. Their story, it seems, remains one of respect and admiration, even after the romantic chapter has closed.
